Materials

  • 18 mini rectangle lamingtons

  • 36 candy eyes

Instructions

  • Arrange the lamingtons on a large plate or chopping board.

  • Break a pretzel so that it resembles a reindeer antler. It does not have to look perfect, in fact the kids think it's hilarious when they look a bit silly. Push the pretzel antlers into the side of the lamington, being careful not to push too hard and break the lamington.
    18 pretzel twists
  • Put a dollop of writing icing where you want the eyes and the nose to be placed. Once you have placed the icing, then add the candy eyes and the red nose.
1 tube black coloured writing icing, 18 red mini m&m's, 36 candy eyes
  • Serve immediately or keep stored in an airtight container for about 2-3 days.

Notes

Lamingtons
These can be found with the other repacked baked goods in grocery stores in Australia. If you do not live in Australia and do not have access to lamingtons you could make these with any other small rectangular shaped baked good.
M&M's
You will have to buy a whole bag of mini m&m's and simply pick out the red ones. You could also use smarties or any other red coloured chocolate if preferred.
Candy Eyes
These can usually be found with the other sprinkles in the baking aisle of most well stocked grocery stores.
Storing
These will last for a couple of days in an airtight container before the antlers start to go soggy. If you find they have gone soggy, you can always pull them out and replace them with another pretzel.
