    Reindeer Snacks With Pretzels

I have such a cute and fun treat to share with you today! These lamington pretzel reindeer snacks are adorable, fun, and festive, and perfect for the holiday season!

They’re quick and easy to make, with just four ingredients, and so simple the kids can do it all by themselves. You’ll start with a packet of little lamington rectangles, some pretzels, red and green m&m's noses, and some candy eyes.

All easily found in most well stocked supermarkets.

    4 Simple Ingredients

    • Pretzels: We use the mini salted pretzels for this recipe. They make the perfect base.
    • Lamington rectangles: These are the perfect shape and colour, and really resemble a hairy reindeer once made up. These can be found in the packaged bakery section in most grocery stores.
    • Red candy: These will be used for the nose. You could use m&m's, we always throw some green in too to change things up.
    • Candy eyes: You can find these in most baking sections at the grocery store alongside the sprinkles (affiliate link).

How To Make Lamington Reindeer Snacks with Pretzels

    1. Lamingtons. Line the lamingtons up on some baking paper.
    2. Pretzels: Break the pretzels into pieces that resemble antlers. They do not have to look perfect, and in fact, look more fun if they are a bit wonky and shaped differently.
    3. Assemble: Simply stick the pretzel antlers into the sides of the lamingtons, and use some icing sugar to stick on the candy eyes and the big red nose.
    4. Rest. Allow it to rest for about 5-10 minutes, when the icing should have hardened.

Keep stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. If you find the antlers going soggy, simply switch them out for some fresh pretzels.

Now sit back and enjoy your cute little snack!

Too easy! And now you have adorable reindeer treats that are as delicious as they are cute. And they come together so quickly you can whip them up in the morning and pop them into lunchboxes for a fun treat.

    Materials

    • 18 mini rectangle lamingtons
    • 18 pretzel twists

    • 18 red mini m&m's
    • 36 candy eyes

    Instructions

    • Arrange the lamingtons on a large plate or chopping board.
      18 mini rectangle lamingtons
    • Break a pretzel so that it resembles a reindeer antler. It does not have to look perfect, in fact the kids think it's hilarious when they look a bit silly. Push the pretzel antlers into the side of the lamington, being careful not to push too hard and break the lamington.
      18 pretzel twists
    • Put a dollop of writing icing where you want the eyes and the nose to be placed. Once you have placed the icing, then add the candy eyes and the red nose.
1 tube black coloured writing icing, 18 red mini m&m's, 36 candy eyes
    • Serve immediately or keep stored in an airtight container for about 2-3 days.

    Notes

    Lamingtons
These can be found with the other repacked baked goods in grocery stores in Australia. If you do not live in Australia and do not have access to lamingtons you could make these with any other small rectangular shaped baked good.
    M&M's
You will have to buy a whole bag of mini m&m's and simply pick out the red ones. You could also use smarties or any other red coloured chocolate if preferred.
    Candy Eyes
These can usually be found with the other sprinkles (affiliate link) in the baking aisle of most well stocked grocery stores.
    Storing
These will last for a couple of days in an airtight container before the antlers start to go soggy. If you find they have gone soggy, you can always pull them out and replace them with another pretzel.
