    🍪 Oreo Cheesecake Balls Recipe

Along with No Bake Oreo Dirt Pudding Parfaits, these oreo cheesecake balls are one of my favourite sweet treats to whip up with my sweet tooth needs some attention.

They are super quick and easy to make, and always super popular.

Whether you are popping them on a dessert platter, or popping them into your lunchbox for a quick afternoon pick-me-up, these little bites of deliciousness are sure to become a regular in your household.

    🧂 Ingredients You Need

We are going to keep the ingredients to a minimum here and simply use:

    • Oreos: I used regular Oreos for this recipe, however you can easily use the golden Oreos, or any other flavor you prefer. Do not use double stuffed, as they are a lot larger and will not combine as well with the cream cheese
    • Cream cheese: this should be softened to room temperature to make it easier to combine with the crushed Oreos
    • Dark chocolate: I use good quality chocolate melts as they are easy to melt in the microwave. You can switch to milk chocolate if preferred
    • White chocolate: again I use a good quality white chocolate melt
    • Heavy cream: this helps to thin out the melted chocolate, making it easier to coat the oreo balls.

When it comes to the chocolate it pays to spend a little more and get good quality chocolate, as it will make the Oreo balls taste so much better.

📋 How To Make Oreo Truffles

These are so easy to make, the hardest part is probably melting the chocolate, but if you buy a brand of chocolate that melts easily in the microwave then you shouldn't have any issues.

Simply pop the oreos into a blender and blend until you have a fine crumb. Add in the cream cheese and blend until you have a well combined mixture.

Once combined, use one tablespoon at a time, take some of the mixture and roll it into evenly-sized balls.

Add the cream cheese and blend until well combined.

Pop these rolled balls onto some parchment paper and then into the freezer. Having the balls partially frozen will make it easier to coat them in chocolate when the time comes.

While the Oreo balls are resting in the freezer go ahead and melt your chocolate. Place the chocolate and oil in a glass bowl. Pop it into the microwave and melt in 20-second increments, stirring after each increment, until it is completely melted and smooth.

If you prefer then you can use a double boiler, or a heatproof bowl placed over a pot of simmering water, stirring constantly until completely melted.

Add in the heavy cream, stir, and set the chocolate aside to let it cool before dipping the Oreo balls into it, otherwise, the heat can cause the balls to melt slightly, and they will end up being weirdly shaped.

Now all that's left to do is sprinkle with the crushed Oreos and pop back into the freezer for about 30 minutes to let the chocolate set.

    💭 Switch Things Up

Oreo truffles are easily customisable, so why not switch things up and use seasonal sprinkles (affiliate link) or coloured white chocolate to match whatever holiday you are celebrating.

    Try some of these ideas:

    • Pink melted chocolate or pink sprinkles (affiliate link) for Valentine's Day
    • Christmas sprinkles (affiliate link)
    • Halloween sprinkles (affiliate link) or candy eyes

Have some fun with it, and use your imagination.

These easy no bake oreo cheesecake balls are such a fun little sweet treat, and are so easy to make. Simply combine Oreos with some cream cheese, roll into ball shapes, and dip into melted chocolate. It couldn't be easier to get a delicious treat on the table. Why not make them ahead of time and keep stored in the freezer until needed.
    Prep Time15 minutes mins

    Course: Dessert
    Cuisine: American
    Keyword: oreo balls
    Yield: 25 Balls
    Calories: 194kcal

    Materials

    • 14 ounces (400g) oreo cookies plus 3 extra Oreo cookies for sprinkling
    • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese softened to room temp
    • 1 cup white chocolate melts
    • 1 cup dark chocolate melts
    • ¼ cup heavy cream

    Instructions

    • Put the Oreo cookies in a blender, along with the cream cheese. Blend until you get a smooth mixture of the two ingredients.
    • Line a shallow tray or cutting board with parchment paper.
    • Using a loaded teaspoon at a time, roll small balls of the Oreo mixture.
    • Place onto the parchment paper and into the freezer for about 45-60 minutes to cool down. This will help the chocolate coat them more easily.
    • In 2 medium bowls, melt the chocolate in a microwave or over a water bath. Add half of the cream to the dark chocolate and the other half to the white chocolate and mix well to combine.
    • Mash 3 Oreo cookies and set aside.
    • Allow the chocolate to cool a little before rolling the Oreo balls in it. When you dip your finger in it, it shouldn't feel hot.
    • Dip each of the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate.
    • Sprinkle the chocolate covered Oreo balls with the extra crushed Oreo. Place back in the freezer for about 30 minutes before serving.

    Notes

    Store
Store leftover Oreo balls in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
They can also be frozen, however you will want to give them time to thaw before eating.
